One-night stand + two percent condom failure rate = happily ever after?

Bar owner Kevin Kowalski is used to women throwing their phone numbers at him, but lately he’s more interested in finding a woman to settle down with. A woman like Beth Hansen. If only their first meeting hadn’t gone so badly...

Beth’s tending bar at a wedding when she comes face-to-face with a tuxedo-clad man she never thought she’d see again. She tries to keep her distance from Kevin but, by last call, she can’t say no to his too-blue eyes or the invitation back to his room. Then she slips out before breakfast without leaving a note and, despite their precautions, pregnant.

Kevin quickly warms to the idea of being a dad and to seeing where things go with Beth. After all, he’s not the player she thinks he is. But she’s not ready for a relationship and, given his reputation, it’s going to take a lot to convince her to go on a second date with the father of her child...

Why I Read this Book: I’m not usually one who’s interesting in reading about an unplanned pregnancy but I loved the first book in this series. How could I not read this one?

What I Liked: The characters. The Kowalski family – love them!

I can definitely relate to Beth’s character. Like her, I’m an only child and I’m very independent. And I, too, married into a huge and loud family. It’s intimidating at times; even still today, after being married almost 7 years. So when I was reading about how she was feeling when around Kevin’s family, I kept nodding to myself, thinking uh huh, yup, know the feeling.

I love that the author incorporates a secondary story arc that’s just as interesting as the main storyline. In Undeniably Yours, it was Paulie, Kevin’s bartender and best friend, who got the lime light some of the time. She had an interesting back story and I would like to read more about her, just in passing, in future books.

And I think it’s worth mentioning again, the author’s fluid writing style just pulls me right in. I didn’t want to put the book down.

What I Didn’t Like: I’m happy with the end result between Beth and Kevin but the ending felt a bit rushed. I think some more time should have passed before the ending occurred and an epilogue could have been added. (Yeah, me and my need for an epilogue. LOL)

Overall Impression: Undeniably Yours was a fun contemporary romance read. I couldn’t wait to read the next book in the series. I hope the author continues this series and soon.

  1. Sounds good but yes not a fan of the oops I am preggers trope. They always marry at once or something stupid and that could just as well scar the kid of life

  4. I wanted to smack Beth! lol Nice to see another viewpoint though, especially if you were able to relate to her. I'm the youngest & many years set apart from my siblings - felt like an only child though. I still wanted to smack her. heehee Kevin... I just like the Kowalskis.
