He was once happily bedding and boxing, but in the newest Duke's Behaving Badly novel, Nicholas Smithfield has inherited a title and a bride . . .

To keep his estate afloat, the new Duke of Gage must honor an agreement to marry Lady Isabella Sawford. Stunningly beautiful, utterly tempting, she's also a bag of wedding night nerves, so Nicholas decides to wait to do his duty—even if it means heading to the boxing saloon every day to punch away his frustration.

Groomed her whole life to become the perfect duchess, Isabella longs for independence, a dream that is gone forever. As her husband, Nicholas can do whatever he likes—but, to Isabella's surprise, the notorious rake instead begins a gentle seduction that is melting every inch of her reserve, night by night . . .

To his utter shock, Nicholas discovers that no previous exploits were half as pleasurable as wooing his own wife. But has the realm's most disreputable duke found the one woman who can bring him to his knees— and leave him there?

Joint Review

First, what did you like about the leads and their romance?

J9: I really enjoyed these characters and their romance! Nicholas was a breath of fresh air into Isabella’s rigid world. I loved Nicholas’ humor and earthy sexuality and could see why Isabella would be drawn to him so intensely.

Monica: Well, I enjoyed the fact that they don’t seem to have pretense. Nicolas is exactly the rake he seems to be and Isabella, while hiding most of herself, does not hide the fact that she is a well bred women training to be one kick ass duchess. The characters know who they are to each other and who they are not and I liked that it started that way.

What’s your favorite scene in this book?

J9: I loved the Epilogue! The entire book was great but the Epilogue showcases Isabella’s character growth as well as how loving and supportive her and Nicholas’s relationship is. Plus, the quasi-villain gets what he deserves.

Monica: I actually loved the opening scene. Nicolas in his element showing off to the reader before the story even begins. I found him very sexy.

Did you read book one in the series? Will you read more in the series when they’re released?

J9: I hadn’t read book one but I’m a historical romance fan so wanted to read this one. I would read future books in the series if I’m in a het historical romance mood (which is rare these days!)

Monica: I have not but yes, I would be interested in reading the others. The titles rock.

What didn’t you like about this book?

J9: I want Margaret’s story! (Margaret is Isabella’s free-spirited sister.) Other than that, I really, really enjoyed this book.

Monica: I second that! Margaret with her sarcasm and quick wit is the story I can’t wait for.

Would you recommend this book to fellow historical romance fans?

J9: Absolutely! It was a quick, enjoyable read with a deliciously erotic romance. I have to also mention how much I enjoyed the little serial story at the beginning of each chapter. It mirrors the primary romance a bit but is also it’s own fun little story that plays into a larger plot--well done!

Monica: Yes! A sexy fast read with plenty of humor and fun.
