BBAW: First Treasure

BBAW_2010_Image Today, book bloggers are invited to share a great new book blog that we’ve discovered since BBAW last year. If you are new to BBAW or book blogging, share with us the very first book blog you discovered.  Tell us why this blog rocks your socks off and why you keep going back for more.

Do you know how hard it is to pick just one? Extremely. I have over 50 book blogs in my Google Reader that I pay close attention to. So I’m going to share 2 of my favorite book blogs with you today. And away we go!

Id So Rather Be Reading

I’d So Rather Be Reading

Kelli and Natalie have a beautiful blog. It’s pleasing to the eye and they post regularly. Kelli is the book reviewer and Natalie handles the technical aspect of blogging, PR and giveaways. Kelli has very eclectic taste; I’m always finding new reads from her. Just yesterday I added Unwind by Neal Shusterman to my TBR list because of Kelli’s review. When I first read the book blurb, I wasn’t too sure if I wanted to read the book or not. But once I read Kelli’s review (which totally blew me away), I knew I had to add it to my TBR list! I can always expect to get her honest opinion on a book. I’ve had the pleasure of having awesome book conversations with both of these ladies. As they both know, once I get going it’s hard to shut me up but they tolerate me :)

La Femme Readers

Eleni is a YA book blogger. I love YA so she is my go-to person for all things YA. She hosts the weekly feature Monday’s Question of the Day. Each week she opens up a book-related discussion by asking a question. She also keeps her readers up to date with recent Tantalizing Future YA Releases. I am always finding interesting, upcoming reads to look forward to because of her. Eleni is dangerous (in a good way) to my TBR list. Her reviews are thoughtful and I enjoy seeing how a book effected her. She always includes information about the author on her reviews, which I find helpful. She also does a lot of author interviews and she always has at least one giveaway going on.

Who are some of your favorite, everyday go-to book blogs? What is it about these book blogs that keeps you coming back for more?

  2. I have about 2 dozen blogs that I try to visit 2-4 times per week - yours included! I enjoy a mix of reviews - especially in the PNR and UF genre, general book discussions, fun interviews and a random passing non-book related thought once and a while. Most of the blogs I read are "twitter friends" and I enjoy "tweeting" with them as well as reading the blogs.
