HE IS A LETHAL WEAPON…

One of an army of human soldiers injected with alien DNA, Michael is a legend within this new race, split between good and evil. Untamable, he has walked on the dark side and returned to the light. Feared and misunderstood, he leaves everything behind, including the one woman destined to be his mate.

HE IS HER ENEMY…AND HER DESTINY…

Fate leads Michael back to Cassandra Powell, for she holds the key to defending his comrades. With their loyalties divided between duty and the people they love, only together can Cassandra and Michael overcome insurmountable odds to save humanity from the wrath of a madman.
But no ordinary woman can control a creature such as Michael, and only one thing is clear—the world will never be the same…

Why I Read this Book: Okay I have to admit, I was a bit leery of reading this book because of the whole ‘science fiction’ element. (I tend to shy away from anything remotely ‘sci-fi’.) But it was just a little alien DNA, at least that’s what I told myself, so I decided to give it a shot. Glad I did!

What I Liked: Okay, so there was a lot of sci-fi stuff going on but it was easy enough to follow (me being a newbie to the genre and all) and it didn’t hold back my reading experience. I just may be a little more open to reading more sci-fi romance (there has to be romance involved) novels in the future.

There is a strong connection between Michael and Cassandra. I want things to work out for these two. Michael thinks he’s not worthy of Cassandra’s love and she’s trying to prove that thought to be nonsense. The love scenes are steamy and you can’t help but want a HEA for these two.

The book is basically about Good versus Evil. It’s a war out there and the main question is who to trust. Having to go against your own family because you don’t see eye to eye. There was an interesting twist regarding Jocelyn’s character that I wasn’t expecting.

What I Didn’t Like: There were a few parts that were skipped over. One of which was Michael and Cassandra’s first date. The storyline skips forward 2 weeks and we miss out on a total of 4 dates. If I would have been able to have read about those dates, I might have had a bit more sense of Michael and Cassandra’s attraction and compatibility. Yes, I feel like they had a strong connection but I like some background to relationships. I like to know how it started out, how the foundation was laid. So I feel like I missed out on that. Then there’s the 2 years that Michael and Cassandra are apart. Again, I feel like I missed out.

I really didn’t understand Adam’s connection to the wolves. I wish that would have been explained a little more. The reader is informed that Adam can communicate with the wolves but the how of it or the why is never explained.

Overall Impression: The Legend of Michael was a fast-paced, action filled read. I wanted to gobble it up in one sitting. I’m ready for the next book in the series, The Renegade Conquest, which is Sterling’s book. While I am interested in reading more about Sterling, I was kind of hoping Caleb’s book would be next. Methinks Caleb and Kelly are going to hook up. Winking smile
