2013 Nicholas Sparks Reading Challenge Sign Up

2013 Nicholas Sparks Reading Challenge

(why yes, that’s my own personal collection of Nicholas Sparks books)

If you know me, then you know how much I love Nicholas Sparks’ novels. He is one of my favorite authors of all time. He’s on my auto-buy list; If he writes it, I will read it. I don’t even need to read the blurb. I just know that I’m going to enjoy reading it.

Here’s an interesting fact: the 3rd most searched keyword that leads people to The Book Vixen is “nicholas sparks books”. Another interesting fact: my 2011 Nicholas Sparks Reading Challenge sign up post is the 3rd most visited post. Ever. Because of this, I have decided to bring back this reading challenge. I didn’t host the challenge in 2012 and I’m sorry for that. But I’ve brought the challenge back because I want to get more people to read his novels; to share the love, if you will.

I know Nicholas Sparks may not be for everyone. His love stories do not always have a HEA. But as the saying goes, tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. If you like a good love story, one that will capture your heart, take your breathe away and tug on your heart strings, then he is the man for the job. So what do you say – are you up for the challenge?

 Reading Challenge Details:

  • Runs January 1, 2013 – December 31, 2013 (books read prior to 1/1/2013 do not count towards the challenge). You can join at anytime. Sign up on The Book Vixen’s blog.
  • The goal is to read or re-read as many Nicholas Sparks novels as you’d like. See the different levels below and pick the one that works best for you. You can move up a level as often as you’d like but no moving down.
  • Books can be any format (bound, ebook, audio).

  1. Brianna,

I would like to sign up, but I don't have a blog or URL.

    Please advise,

    Kelly B

    1. Are you on Goodreads? You could create a shelf for the challenge to keep track of your books.

    2. You're suggestion worked great. I have never blogged and wasn't sure if I would be able to join with the rest of you. I'm not sure what I do more read or breathe: read..read..read..take a breath..read...

  2. I'll be doing it but having created the challenges for 2013 yet on the blog so will wait to add the link :)

  3. Thanks for hosting this challenge, Brianna! I, for one, am glad that you brought the challenge back because I've never had the pleasure of reading his work.

And thanks, too, for always including audio format in your challenges. I get really irked at the number of challenges where audio is excluded, like it's not considered really reading! Pfffft!

    1. I was kind of amazed at how many times the 2011 sign-up has been viewed. And people keep viewing it. So I figured it would be good to bring it back :)

Thanks for joining the challenge! Can't wait to see which of his books you start off with :)

  4. My blogspot in not active so I'll update the progress on my wordpress insread.
    Please count me in:

    Yuska Vonita
    I'll go with First Date.

  5. I really like his books so thanks for this reading challenge. Hopefully I'll be able to read some of his books I haven't read.

  6. Just signed up for the challenge. I think I will start out by reading Safe Haven since the movie is due to be released in Australia on 14 February 2013.

  7. I love Sparks too, thank you for hosting this challenge. I'll go with First Date

  8. I signed up a while ago, but forgot to comment I think I will start with first date for now and I will upgrade later.

  9. Just signed up i will go with married. What do i do now?

    1. Once you read a book that meets the criteria for this challenge, post a review on Goodreads (that's where I see you've linked to) and link up you review on the review link-up page.

  10. I just signed up. I will start with married. What should I do now

  11. Is there any link for submitting the review?

    1. The review link up is HERE. You can also find it in the drop-down menu bar on top, under 2013 Challenges > Nicholas Sparks > 2013 Review Link Up.

  12. This is such a fun challenge! I absolutely love Nicholas Sparks as well! I've read almost all of his books (missing 1 or 2 at the most). I think I'll participate for 2014, even though my level will be low (: New follower via bloglovin!

    1. I hope you'll join us in 2014! And thanks for following :)
