Special Agents for the Department of Diplomatic Security, Taylor MacAllister and Will Brandt have been partners and best friends for three years, but everything changed the night Taylor admitted the truth about his feelings for Will. And when Taylor was shot a few hours later, Will felt his reluctance to get involved was vindicated. For Will, the team and the friendship have to come first--despite the fact that he hasn't failed to notice just how...hot Taylor is.

Taylor has been in love with his partner and best friend since they were first partnered. There isn't much he wouldn't do for Will--but he doesn't know how much longer they can stay teamed feeling the way he does. Still, he agreed to a camping trip in the High Sierras--despite the fact that he hates camping--because Will wanted a chance to save their partnership.

But the trip is a disaster from the first, and things rapidly go from bad to worse when they find a crashed plane and a couple of million dollars in stolen money. With a trio of murderous robbers trailing them, Will and Taylor are on dangerous ground, fighting for their partnership, their passion...and their lives.

Publisher's Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable: Anal play/intercourse, male/male sexual practices, strong violence.

In a Nutshell: Stellar MM romance with a perfect balance of sexual and emotional heat. The action plot was fast paced but didn’t overtake the romance focus of the novella. Think I have a new MM series!

The Set Up: Special Agents Taylor and Will have been best friends and partners for three years but when Taylor admits his feelings for Will and is subsequently shot on a mission, their relationship is in shambles. So Will asks Taylor to go on a wilderness camping trip to save their partnership. But the trip turns sour when the men find two million dollars and a stolen, crashed plane and their relationship worries may take backseat to saving their lives.

Why I Read this Book: I’m a huge Cut & Run series fan and I was looking for another MM romance featuring military/civil servant partners. Okay, I know that’s quite a niche to search out but I *had* to try! And I’m pleased to report I found it and it’s great!

What I Liked: Will and Taylor are delicious. They both value their friendship which is why it’s nearly painful to watch them risk it to progress their relationship. The angst is very well written and sucked me in from page one through the end. Will and Taylor aren’t carbon copies of each and are both unique and compelling characters I loved. They have great dialogue and even better silences as they tentatively circle each other. Their emotional heat matches the sexual heat and makes for a stellar romance.

What I Also Liked: The plot was action packed and fast paced. But the point of the plot was to help the men progress their relationship. As action-movie as the plot was, the novella never lost its focus as a romance and that made it a great read, in my opinion.

What I Didn’t Like: The ending is a tad abrupt but given that I have three more novellas in the series I suspect that will be just fine.

IMO: Any MM romance fan will love this novella as I did and want to continue reading about the yummy Will and Taylor.

    2. HA! Yes, goodreads under the name Samanthacycles, but I stopped logging stuff on there a few months ago. I've gone back to my old tried and true spreadsheet. I only read m/m for the better part of 2 years - what can I say - I had some catching up to do. So let's just say I've read hundreds and hundreds in the genre. Hit me up on email if you ever have any questions or need a rec. Samanthacycles(at)gmail(dot)com
