There is no rehearsal for true love.

When A-list film actor Ryan Christensen ducked into her pub to escape his screaming fans, never in a million years did Taryn Mitchell think her life was about to change forever. But now, eight months later, after a whirlwind romance, Taryn wakes up in Ryan’s Hollywood hotel room to find a diamond to die for on her left ring finger—and her face splashed across the cover of every gossip magazine.

Ryan’s very public proposal is catnip to the tabloids, his management team is worried, and Taryn must figure out how a small town girl like her fits into his glittering world. What does it take to make a relationship work amidst telephoto lenses, daily on-set temptations, and jealous fans who will stop at nothing to keep you from walking down the aisle with the man of your dreams?

With no script to follow and no chance for a dress rehearsal, Taryn and Ryan will be forced to take the plunge and risk everything to make their love last.

Why I Read this Book: I love romances where a celebrity falls in love with a commoner and I really enjoyed the first book in this series, Love Unscripted (my review).

What I Liked: Not only do we follow Taryn and Ryan, we get to follow Taryn's BFF Marie as well. She's going through a very tough time and it was nice to see something good come her way. There was quite a bit of drama going on, for both Taryn and Marie, though it was toned down a notch compared to the first book. In Love Unrehearsed, it was enjoyable to read and not so overwhelming.

The author has a very good sense of celebrity life and she conveyed this, very convincingly, in both books. So much so that this story reads like it’s based on personal experience.

I absolutely loved the ending. It was two well-deserved, and quite emotional, moments and it was the perfect end to this chapter of Taryn and Ryan’s life together.

What I Didn’t Like: Taryn was a bit needy in the beginning of this book.

This scenario might be excusable once but this shit was so not happening a second time. Not while I have this enormous diamond ring on my hand.

Oh no she didn’t! Her being engaged to a celebrity got to her head a few times and I began to wonder where the Taryn from Rhode Island went. But as the story progressed, she came back down to earth.

I wasn’t on board with Marie’s career change. Her new career choice came completely out of left field and Mike most definitely had everything to do with that decision. It was too convenient, a bit extreme, and it just didn’t feel like it was done for the right reason.

In the first book, Love Unscripted, the author didn’t use real celebrity names; she made up her own. However, about half way through Love Unrehearsed, the author changes tactics and starts using real celebrity names. I don’t know why the change but it was kind of weird.

Memorable Moment:

“His ass? You took a close-up of [another celebrity’s] ass?

“It’s a gift for Marie. She’s going to flip.”

“I thought she only had eyes for my ass.” The tiny pout on his face was pathetically endearing.

“She’s used the bathroom after you’ve been in it, Ryan. The mystery and allure are gone now. You’ve effectively killed it for her.”

Overall Impression: I believe this is the end of the road for this series but I would love more. I’m not ready to let go of Taryn and Ryan. They are a charming couple and I have not had enough of their fairy tale romance yet.

  19. I loved the first book. It's odd that she would change tactics and use real celebrities in this story but not in the first. I can't wait to read it though.
