Thursday Thirteen: Books I Push

Thursday Thirteen

Thursday Thirteen is a weekly meme with a simple theme: each Thursday you blog a list of 13 things. What kind of things? Any kind! Just come up with a list theme and run with it.

Brianna’s List:

  1. Elemental Assassin series by Jennifer Estep. I have loved every book in this series to date. Awesome heroine. Amazing world-building. And it still feels fresh 8 books in.
  2. Kowalski Family series by Shannon Stacey. Great romantic comedy.
  3. Pushing the Limit series by Katei McGarry. Angst and young love. Loves.
  4. Easy by Tammara Webber. Rarely do I stay up until 2 am to read a book but when I do, I tell everyone I know about it.
  5. Ride with Me by Ruthie Knox. Another great rom-com.
  6. Nicholas Sparks’ books. He will take your emotions on a roller coaster ride. His books may not be for everyone but I love converting people.
  7. The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins. I still think about Katniss, Peeta, and Gale even though I read the books over a year ago.
  8. Motorcycle Man and Own the Wind by Kristen Ashley. Yeah, I cheated by squeezing 2 books here but both are good. This is book crack at its finest. Trust.
  9. Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris. A fun paranormal romance series.
  10. Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward. A paranormal romance series full of Alpha males.
  11. Fool’s Gold series by Susan Mallery. A great small town romance.
  12. Leave Me Breathless by Cherrie Lynn. Tattooed hero with pierced nipples and a pierced peen. Need I say more? As Mandi would say, Happenis.
  13. A book that shall remain nameless because the author did something that irked me. I no longer push this book but when I did, before the author did the thing that irked me, I pushed it HARD. I loved this book greatly and it was my goal to spread that love.

J9’s List:

  1. Cut & Run series because I'm a Ty and Zane addict.
  2. Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake by Sarah MacLean because the heroine is imperfect and still gets her man while retaining her self-worth.
  3. Faith, Love & Devotion series by Tere Michaels because I love the leads and their family building.
  4. Any of Ava March's historical MM because I love them.
  5. Full Disclosure by Tibby Armstrong because it is a lovely story of a committed couple overcoming life's difficulties.
  6. Heart of the Warrior  by Donya Lynne because the romance is scorching hot and the world build appeases my nerd side.
  7. Any of Josh Lanyon's books because his characters are awesome and his romances balanced within the story.
  8. Dino Martini Mysteries 2 book series by Elle Parker because the noir mystery is perfectly balanced with an intense romance.
  9. Immortal Guardians  by Dianne Duvall since I love the world building and the strong romances.
  10. The Hathaways series by Lisa Kleypas because I love this historical series featuring a close family of siblings and their unconventional approaches to finding life partners.
  11. Taboo for You by Anyta Sunday because of its fun premise, stellar secondary characters and intense friends to lovers romance.
  12. Moon Craving by Lucy Monroe because I love the deaf heroine and her hero who sees her strength.
  13. Islands by Samantha Kane because it's an emotional romance of two men during WWII.

    1. There's no schedule, that's the beauty of this meme. You make up the topics for your list and post on Thursdays. It doesn't have to be every Thursday either :)

  5. I'd push these few from my fairly recert reading -

Guy Gavriel Kay – Sailing to Sarantium (1998) – Brilliant mix of history, politics, drama and fantasy set in a fictional representation of the Byzantine Empire.

Carlos Ruiz Zafón - The Shadow of the Wind

Neil Gaiman – Stardust (1999) 10/10. A book to rival Terry Pratchett. In the Victorian town of Wall the beautiful Victoria Forester tells lovelorn Tristran Thorn that she will marry him if he finds the falling star they have just seen. In a charming faerie world he makes his quest and seeks his prize.

    Martin Davies – The Conjuror’s Bird (2005) 10/10
The novel switches between the worlds of Joseph Banks (seventeenth century English naturalist, botanist, patron of the natural sciences and a hero of mine) and that of a twentieth century taxidermist who is hunting for a missing bird specimen. Not only enjoyable and informative but with a twist of the mysterious and a hint of romance. I loved it.

David MITCHELL – “The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet ” (2010)

  6. I push the Hunger Games and the Black Dagger Brotherhood too! :) I have to admit to being totally curious about what book you refuse to push but respect your want to not shine that limelight.

I also push The Wallflower series by Lisa Kleypas, mainly Devil in Winter, because it has Sebastian in it. SEBASTIAN. :) That book left me breathless and a teary emotional wreck. Me thinks, I should re-read it.
